The Mom Project raises $80M in Series C Funding To Further Unlock $1B in Economic Opportunity for Moms — here’s what happens next
Wow. What a big win for mom and monumental moment for The Mom Project! We’ve been entrusted with $80 Million dollars to continue to deliver on our mission of unlocking the potential of moms. This moment is proof that our company and our mission are more than just a good cause -- they’re good business. When moms succeed, so do their families, so do our communities, so do businesses, and so does the economy.
A Big Win for Moms
We have made incredible progress towards building a better workplace for everyone. Over 500,000 talented professionals and more than 2,000 companies of all sizes have joined forces to drive business forward with The Mom Project, and now there’s so much more we can do together.
The Series C round brings The Mom Project's total funding to $106 million, representing the largest global investment ever made in female workforce technology.
At A Crucial Moment in Time
In 2020, 2.3 million women left the U.S. workforce—either through job loss or being forced to quit in order to care for their children—leading to the lowest levels of women in the labor force since the 1980s.
Vice President Kamala Harris declared the mass exodus of women from the workforce “a national emergency.” Globally, women lost more than 64 million jobs in 2020, costing them at least $800 billion in earnings.
While the situation has improved slightly as offices begin to open back up, many employees still favor work from home and greater flexibility, impacting employers’ ability to hire and retain talent.
Our latest round of funding will enable us to remain focused on our goal of connecting moms with more than $1 billion in economic opportunity in the next two years, while also accelerating significant investments in our products, offerings and customer partnerships.
This is for you, this is for us. And we're so thankful to have you here with us!
“It’s long past time we stop underestimating and undervaluing mothers in the workforce. The Mom Project provides flexible work opportunities to enable moms to work on their own terms, and in doing so, it expands what’s possible for working women and for companies of all sizes,”
- Stephanie Nieman, Managing Director at Leeds Illuminate
