- What is your current role and in what industry?
Currently, I’m a freelance Advertising Creative Producer and Manager. I also work on retouching projects.
I started out assisting photographers during graduate school at the School of Visual Arts New York City (SVA NYC), eventually becoming a retoucher. I won a Communication Arts award early in my career.
I then moved into the pharmaceutical advertising world. I directed a team of digital artists to deliver award-winning campaign artwork within the Omnicom Health Group whose clients include Pfizer, Novartis and Biogen. Additionally, I handled all senior management portrait photography and traveled with account teams to produce client work onsite.
Today, I am looking to explore new areas and sectors that can utilize my skill set as a creative producer and manager.
- How did you learn about TMP and what motivated you to sign up with TMP?
I initially learned about The Mom Project through LinkedIn, while looking for alternatives to existing employment agencies. In the past, I have conducted job searches with Creative Circle, Aquent, Robert Half and a recruiter. The Mom Project's commitment to supporting women, moms, dads and allies in their journey to find work-life integration motivated me to sign up. - Can you share more about your journey with The Mom Project?
I had been on the job hunt for more than six months and needed to expand my search, as I am trying to expand beyond my past job title. I have explored many of The Mom Project articles in The Study section. I love the variety of subjects covered. As an "older" job candidate I know I have to be more patient in my job search and welcome the content available in The Study. Additionally, I am looking into opportunities to increase my digital production knowledge by taking online courses. - What has been your favorite aspect, tool, or part of The Mom Project?
One thing I love about The Mom Project is the pay transparency with each listing. For example, when I match with a job listing, I can quickly see the hourly or salaried pay available to determine if it is a good fit for me to apply. - What advice would you share with other moms and parents?
As a father of two girls, I believe we should all lead by example. I want to show them that you should never give up on your goals and dreams. - What is something that people might not know about you?
I love playing the guitar and making music on the computer. - How long have you been a member of the TMP community?
Two months so far and looking forward to exploring The Mom Project Community and opportunities further.
We would love to hear from you!
