Fostering Mental Wellness in The Workplace

building and balance advancing your career while being a mom

Mental wellness plays a pivotal role in the strength of a company and its employees' health. Prior to the pandemic, one in ten U.S. adults showed symptoms of anxiety or depression. Fast forward to today and that number has increased to four in ten. With more than 164 million individuals in the U.S. workforce, companies have the unique opportunity to serve as an incredible support system by fostering a culture of wellness within their organization. In 2021, one year into the pandemic, 77 percent of employers stated that mental wellbeing was a top priority for their company.

For employees, this is great news.

One forward-thinking company leading the mental wellness movement is Best Buy. During The Mom Project’s virtual event, The Comeback Summit, Best Buy’s Senior Vice President of Experience Design and Insights, Jennie Weber, inspired attendees by offering practical tips for moms returning to work and how to maintain mental wellness along the journey. She also shared how Best Buy cultivates wellness throughout the organization from the leadership down.
